FDL Area Foundation Elects New Board Members

12-Jul-2014

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation recently welcomed Therese Massey and Aaron Sadoff (above) to the board of directors.

Therese Massey (below) has been a resident of Fond du Lac since 1971 and  has been a sales associate for Adashun Jones Real Estate for the past 26 years.  Therese has a BA from Marquette University and a MA from Cardinal Stritch University.  She also taught in the Milwaukee area before moving to Fond du Lac.

Therese has membership in state and national real estate organizations, serves on the Board of the Fond du Lac Area Women's Fund and is a member of Noon Rotary.  She has also served on the United Way Board, the St. Mary's Springs Foundation Board, the St. Francis Home Foundation Board and FACES.  She has also been a member of Service League and Charity Club.

Therese was married to her husband Tom Massey (deceased) for 24 years.  She also has 3 children: Tim of Williston ND, Mary Miller (Jeff) of San Francisco, CA, Katy Lee(Jae) of Denver, Colorado and also has 4 grandchildren.  Her hobbies include her grandchildren, reading, and traveling.

Aaron Sadoff is the proud husband to his wife Kelly (19 years) and father to Paige (15), Lilly (13) and Ethan (9).  He is currently serving in his 6th year as the superintendent of The School District of North Fond du Lac. Aaron was born in 1971 and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1990.  He served in the US Army as a cavalry scout after graduating high school.  After his service in the military, he continued on his education at UW-Fond du Lac, UW-Madison and Marian University.  He has been in education since 1997 as a psychology and history teacher (in Manitowoc and Fond du Lac), principal and currently as the superintendent of The School District of North Fond du Lac.

Aaron enjoys serving on the Volunteer Center of Fond du Lac County and Children’s Museum Boards as well as helping coach his children’s sports teams.  When Aaron is not at school or serving in the community he enjoys working around the home, barbequing, golfing and relaxing with family and friends.

Aaron Sadoff, who was appointed by Elizabeth Hayes, the President of the Fond du Lac School Board, replaced outgoing board member Mimi Sager.  Mimi was honored for her 10 years of meritorious service to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation Board.  Therese Massey was elected by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation Board of Directors.

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation was established with a contribution of $53,000 from the disbanded Fond du Lac Children’s Home in 1975.  In 2014, 39 years later, community members have established over 285 funds and one supporting organization, the Sophia Foundation, Inc., with a combined market value of more than $28,000,000.  Each of those funds represent a unique charitable interest, including support for scholarships, churches, youth activities, the arts, the needy, the environment, etc.  Those endowment funds are now generating more than $800,000 each year that is being returned to the community in the form of charitable grants and scholarships.  If you would like more information on the Fond du Lac Area Foundation please contact us at (920) 921-2215.  Or see us at www.fdlareafoundation.com
