Man Pleads "Not Guilty" in Drunken Driving Crash that Killed Daughter

The man charged with causing a drunken driving crash that killed his daughter is pleading “Not Guilty.” Steven Brownell faces three counts, including homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in connection to the August crash.

10-year old Kherington Brownell was killed in the crash, which also injured her 13-year old brother, Kage.

Brownell was also reportedly left a quadriplegic.

According to the criminal complaint, his blood alcohol level was .278 at the time of the crash - which is more than triple the legal limit. His Mustang was reportedly going at least 100 miles per hour when it left Highway 45 in Winnebago County - went airborne - and crashed into a cornfield.

His next court date is set for February.
