No Boom In Oshkosh This 4th Of July

The 4th of July will be a major dud in Oshkosh this year, as the City has announced they will not have any events to celebrate the day. That includes the parade and the Festival Foods fireworks show. City Manager Mark Rohloff said, in a press release, that the decision was made after receiving input from the county health department. “We felt it would be irresponsible to provide events where social distancing would be problematic.” There was also concern that, with possibly more events being cancelled around the area, Oshkosh would see an even larger influx of out-of-town visitors that would come to Oshkosh

When ur scared you cancel anything patriotic-its what you do. Then people complain "nothing to do". You wonder why young people move away?
Every event a city government cancels should incur a 3% reduction in government officials salaries. Think it would change the perspective? Sheer laziness.

wow scared mom...

You're right! We should EXPECT local businesses and organizations who have taken a huge hit over all of this to fund the fireworks this year...and everyone snuggle close on their blankets during a time when the covid cases are at their highest, so you and yours can be sure nothing is out of the ordinary this year for you.
Totally worth it (nevermind the risk to you and the rest of us) for a few "ooo's and ahhhh's" Wouldn't you say?

But no fire works, social distancing, double standards
