--The Titans travel to UW-Whitewater on Thursday for the WIAC semifinals


College Basketball:


UW-Oshkosh has been picked as the preseason favorite to win the WIAC Men’s Basketball crown this year by the conference’s coaches and sports information directors. The Titans return four starters from last year’s team that tied a school record for wins (25) and advanced to the NCAA Division Three Final Four and National Championship Game for the first time in school history. UW-Platteville was picked second, with UW-Stevens Point third, UW-Whitewater fourth and UW-La Crosse fifth. River Falls, Eau Claire and Stout round out the league predictions. Oshkosh opens the season in exhibition play against the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday night.


NBA:


The Bucks have exercised the fourth-year contract option on forward Thon Maker and the third year contract option on forward DJ Wilson. Maker is averaging six points and just under five rebounds per game this season, with career averages of 4.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Wilson appeared in 22 games in his rookie season with Bucks - averaging around one point a game. He also made 11 appearances for the Wisconsin Herd last year - scoring 15 points per game on average, with five rebounds and two assists per game.


College Football:


Four Big Ten teams are ranked in the first College Football Playoff Rankings of 2018 that were announced Tuesday night. Michigan is the highest ranked of the group at number five, Ohio State is 10th, Penn State 14th and Iowa 16th. The top four of the CFP rankings includes Alabama at number one, Clemson at two, LSU at three and Notre Dame at four.
