High School Football:

There are two teams left from the Fond du Lac area in the WIAA Playoffs as we enter round three tonight -

In Division One - unbeaten Fond du Lac plays host to 10-1 Sun Prairie in a battle of Cardinals at Fruth Field. Coverage starts at 6:30 on KFIZ with kickoff at 7 on News/Talk 1450 KFIZ and KFIZ.com.

In Division Five - it’s a rematch of a week two game - that pits defending State Champions against each other. St. Mary’s Springs hosts Amherst at Lomira High School tonight - the Ledgers defeated the Falcons back in week two 34-0. Springs is last year’s Division 6 Champion, while Amherst won the gold ball in Division 5 last season.

Coverage on 107.1 The Bull tonight with Marty Schibbelhut and Laconia head coach Mark Madigan starts at 6:50, with kickoff at 7pm.

Several area football players have earned Academic All-State honors from the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. The award is given to senior players who are varsity letterwinners and have a cumulative 3.75 GPA or higher. Players from the area include:

Campbellsport: Gabriel Goebel, Christopher Zimdahl

Fond du Lac: Joe Schlagenhaft, Jared Scheberl

Kiel: Max Ramminger

Laconia: Alex Turner

New Holstein: Theodore Schnell, Sam Schaefer, Brad Schroeder

St. Mary’s Springs: Cade Christensen, Ezra Tucker. Mario Moreno

Women’s College Soccer:

The Marian Women’s Soccer team gets a second chance to compete in the NACC Tournament - despite losing in the first round last weekend. Because MSOE used an ineligible player, the Sabres and Illinois Tech will face off in a semifinal game tonight in Chicago, with the winner facing top-seed Dominican in the championship game Saturday afternoon.

Boston 117, Milwaukee 113

--Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds for Milwaukee - as they suffer their first loss of the season after a 7-0 start. The Bucks made just nine of 29 three-point attempts in the loss, while the Celtics made 24 threes in the win. The Bucks are 7-1 and host the Sacramento Kings on Sunday afternoon.


San Francisco 34, Oakland 3

--Nick Mullens threw for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns in his NFL debut.


Edmonton 4, Chicago 0

Detroit 4, New Jersey 3
