The Latest Sports Headlines:

>>Geronimo!  Allison Signs With Lions

(Green Bay, WI)  -- Wide receiver Geronimo Allison will have to find his untapped potential in Detroit. After a disappointing fourth season with the Green Bay Packers, Allison was cut adrift and signed a one-year deal with the Lions Sunday. Allison caught 89 passes for one-thousand-45 yards and six touchdowns while playing 46 games for Green Bay. Injuries sidelined him after a promising start to the 2018 season, the Packers resigned him – but Allison never seemed to be comfortable as the slot receiver for coach Matt LaFleur’s offense. He becomes the fifth Packer free agent to find a new home, following Bryan Bulaga, Kyler Fackrell, Blake Martinez and Danny Vitale.

>>Badgers Basketball Commit Davis Named AP Wisconsin Player Of The Year

(La Crosse, WI)  -- La Cross Central High School standout Johnny Davis has been named the A-P Wisconsin Player of the Year. The six-foot-five star has committed to play for the Wisconsin Badgers. He averaged more than 27 points and nine rebounds-a-game with the Red Raiders.  His team won a Wisconsin state championship when Davis was a freshman, then qualified for the state tournament the last two years. The Raiders would have made it to the tournament again this year, but it was called off.

>>Bucks F Middleton:  Hopes Season Continues “Some Way, Somehow”

(Milwaukee, WI)  -- N-B-A All-Star Khris Middleton says he hopes the season continues “some way, somehow.” Middleton and his Milwaukee Bucks teammates were having a campaign for the record books until COVID-19 forced the current suspension.  In 55 games, Middleton was averaging 21 points, six rebounds and four assists-a-game. Overall, the Bucks had the best record in the N-B-A at 53-and-12. Just before the current season got underway, Middleton signed a five-year, 177-million-dollar contract with his team.

>>Brewers Option 5 Players To Minor Leagues Before Rosters Were Frozen

(Milwaukee, WI)  -- The Milwaukee Brewers optioned five players to the minor leagues just before Major League Baseball rosters were frozen Friday.  Pitchers Angel Perdomo, Bobby Wahl and Eric Yardley, plus catcher Jacob Nottingham, were sent to Triple-A San Antonio. Pitcher J-P Feyereisen was optioned to Double-A Biloxi.  Milwaukee was one of several teams trying to cut their rosters to a more manageable size because spring training, if it resumes, will be a shortened version before the start of the 2020 season.
