The Latest Sports Headlines:

>>Division I Athletes Can Receive Another Year Of Eligibility Due To Coronavirus

(Indianapolis, IN)  -- The Division One Council with the N-C-A-A has voted to let schools like Wisconsin and Marquette extend eligibility for another season to athletes involved in spring sports. Their season was cut short or eliminated by the coronavirus. In its Monday vote, the Council also adjusted financial aid rules to let teams keep more athletes on scholarship to make room for incoming recruits. Council chair M. Grace Calhoun says the decision gives individual schools the flexibility to make those decisions at the campus level.  Winter sports like basketball aren’t affected.

>>Packers Re-Sign RB Tyler Ervin

(Green Bay, WI)  -- Running back Tyler Ervin showed the Green Bay Packers enough in four games that the team has decided to bring him back for another season. The 5th-year player rejuvenated the Packers slumbering kick return game. He averaged nearly 27 yards on kickoff returns and nine-point-six yards on punt returns. Green Bay had been struggling with the worst kick return performance in the N-F-L until Ervin was claimed off waivers from Jacksonville last December. General manager Brian Gutekunst announced Monday Ervin had been re-signed for the 2020 season.

>>Emergence Of DiVincenzo Makes Decision To Let Brogdon Leave Look Better

(Milwaukee, WI)  -- The emergence of second-year player Donte DiVincenzo is making the Milwaukee Bucks decision to let Malcolm Brogdon leave look a little better.  When Brogdon was sent to the Indiana Pacers on a sign-and-trade deal last off-season the decision what questioned. Brogdon has been one of the best shooting guards in the N-B-A.  However, he does have an injury history that gave the Bucks reason to hesitate and he missed 17 of Indy’s 65 games this season. Brogdon’s shooting is way off his career norms, too. DiVincenzo can’t match the shooting, but he is known for his tenacious defense and he will be under team control on his rookie deal until 2022.

>>Feud Cooling?  Antetokounmpo Says Harden Is Most Difficult NBA Player To Guard

(Milwaukee, WI)  -- They’ve been trading shots on social media since Giannis Antetokounmpo edged Houston’s James Harden for the N-B-A Most Valuable Player award last season. Maybe the feud is cooling off now.  The Bucks star took shots at Harden’s defensive ability while choosing sides for the All-Star game. Harden suggested Antetokounmpo was only good because he’s seven feet tall and dunks, saying it doesn’t take skill to dunk.  When asked who is the most difficult player in the N-B-A to guard right now, Antetokounmpo told reporters this week he’d have to go with James Harden.
