The Latest Sports Headlines:

>>If Packers Play In Empty Lambeau Field, Green Bay Will Lost $150M-Plus

(Green Bay, WI)  --  The Green Bay area could lose more than 150 million dollars in economic activity if the Packers wind up playing inside an empty Lambeau Field. Hotels and restaurants would be hit the hardest, but every corner of the economy would be impacted. Two preseason and eight regular-season games generate an estimated 15 million dollars-a-game in direct and indirect economic benefits for Brown County. One model suggests the Packers draw about 600 thousand people to the Green Bay region on game days.

>>Kenseth Coming Out Of Retirement To Replace Fired Driver

(Charlotte, NC)  --  A former NASCAR champion is coming out of retirement to replace fired driver Kyle Larson. Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth will compete for Chip Ganassi Racing. Larson was dumped after using a racial slur while competing in a virtual race two weeks ago.  The team announced Monday Kenseth will be taking over the Number-42 Chevrolet. Kenseth is one of only five drivers to win a Cup Series championship, a NASCAR Rookie of the Year award and the Daytona 500.  The other four are in the Hall of Fame

>>Bucks Will Have To Find Somewhere Else To Resume Practicing

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  When the NBA allows its players to return to team training facilities Friday, the Milwaukee Bucks will be out of luck.  Governor Tony Evers’ Safer at Home order doesn’t make room for group practices.  Different states have different guidelines in place right now and the Bucks will have to do their practicing elsewhere – until more of the restrictions are eased. NBA officials say the change doesn’t mean a return to regular season play is imminent.  Some players say they haven't taken a shot or done any running since the season was suspended March 11th.

>>Packers Release QB, Re-Sign Lazard, Sullivan

(Green Bay, WI)  --  The dust hadn’t settled from the weekend’s 2020 NFL Draft when the Green Bay Packers front office was back in action.  The Packers released quarterback Manny Wilkins Monday and re-signed wide receiver Allen Lazard and cornerback Chandon Sullivan as exclusive rights free-agents. The release leaves the team with Tim Boyle and first-round draft choice Jordan Love as back-ups to quarterback Aaron Rodgers.  The Packers also signed undrafted free-agent Jalen Morton out of Prairie View A&M.

>>NBA Experts:  Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Claim 2 Of The League’s Major Awards

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  N-B-A experts are buying into the idea that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo could claim not just one, but two major awards when the current season finally ends.  Building on his Most Valuable Player selection from last season, the six-11 athlete has bumped his statistics up with 29-point-six points, 13-point-seven rebounds and five-point-eight assists-a-game. He also is averaging a block and a steal for each game and is leading the NBA in defensive rating by an impressive margin. Amazingly enough, Antetokounmpo has built up that list of statistics while averaging less than 31 minutes-a-game of court time – the fewest since his rookie season.
