The Latest Sports Headlines:

>>NFL:  2020 Draft Will Be “Fully Virtual”

(Green Bay, WI)  -- The Green Bay Packers’ draft team could be doing their important work in their pajamas in two-and-a-half weeks – if they want to. The N-F-L has made it official. The 2020 Draft will be fully virtual, completely online. N-F-L Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to teams Monday describing the plan and the reason for the decision.  The Packers are just one of the 30 teams who still have hundreds of questions about rookie camps, O-T-As and minicamps. All of the teams are seeking alternatives if they aren’t allowed to bring players into their facilities.

>>Plenty Of Wisconsin Players On NFL’s All-Decade Team

(New York, NY)  -- There are plenty of Wisconsin names on the N-F-L All-Decade Team announced Monday. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers joins Tom Bradley as the top signal-callers for the decade of the 2010s.  Former Packer Julius Peppers, who played in Green Bay three seasons, and guard Jahri Evans, who played here one season, also were honored. Two of the eight unanimous selections are former Wisconsin Badgers – three-time N-F-L Defensive Player of the Year J-J Watt and 10-time Pro Bowl selection Joe Thomas.

>>WIAC Names New Commissioner:  Danielle Harris

(Madison, WI)  -- The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference will have a new commissioner for the first time in 24 years effective July 1st.  Danielle Harris will take over the position held by longtime Commissioner Gary Karner. Harris has served as the associate commissioner of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for the last seven years.  She oversaw basketball, soccer, softball, track and volleyball for the G-L-I-A-C. The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is a member of that conference.

>>LB Fackrell Wants To Show He’s “Not A 1-Sack Player”

(New York, NY)  -- Former Packers outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell wants to show he’s more than what he calls a “one-sack player.”  After leading the Packers with 10-and-a-half sacks during the 2018 season, he was up-staged by free agents Za’Darius and Preston Smith last year.  That’s why Fackrell had to settle for a one-year deal with the New York Giants worth four-and-a-half million dollars. He will line up with former Packer teammate Blake Martinez on the unit coached by defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.  Fackrell will be entering his fifth N-F-L season if and when play resumes this fall.
