The Latest Sports Headlines:

>>Marquette Women’s Basketball Fills Assistant Coaching Vacancy Quickly

(Milwaukee, WI)  -- Less than two weeks after Scott Merritt left the Marquette women’s basketball coaching staff, his position has been filled.  Itoro Coleman comes in with a record of being a strong recruiter after being part of attracting four top-25 rated classes of recruits, including three at Penn State. Golden Eagles head coach Megan Duffy made the announcement this week. The veteran coach with 20 years of experience was the head coach for Clemson from 2010-to-2013.  She played in the W-N-B-A for the Indiana Fever and the Houston Comets.

>>Former Badgers LB Vince Biegel Stays With Dolphins

(Miami, FL)  -- Former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Vince Biegel will remain with the Miami Dolphins after signing his restricted tender.  Biegel is a native of Wisconsin Rapids and he was a fourth-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers in the 2017 N-F-L Draft. Biegel will make a little over two million dollars during the 2020 season.  He started 10 games for the Dolphins last season, making 59 tackles with two-and-a-half sacks and one interception.

>>Packers Told Hold Virtual Meeting With DL Prospect From Utah

(Green Bay, WI)  -- The Green Bay Packers are one of 17 N-F-L teams set to hold a virtual meeting with defensive line prospect Leki Fotu of Utah.  Fotu is called a “rare athlete for his size,” with a “unique skill set.” The six-foot-five, 330-pounder was timed at five-point-15 seconds in the 40.  Scouts say he could be a productive gap plugger in the N-F-L. He’s not expected to make an impact as a pass rusher, but the Packers could use better gap players along their defensive line.  Fotu is expected to be picked in the third or fourth round.

>>If NBA Resumes With Playoffs, Bucks Would Meet Orlando

(New York, NY)  -- As the stoppage for the coronavirus pandemic drags on, it becomes more likely the N-B-A will resume play with post-season games – if at all.  Holding the best record in the league at 53-and-12, the Milwaukee Bucks would be pitted against Orlando in the first round for the Eastern Conference.  Orlando had won six-of-nine games when play was stopped. Impact players like Evan Fournier and Jonathan Isaac will have had time to rehab their injuries.  Terrence Ross, Nic Vucevic, Michael Carter-Williams and top draft pick Markelle Fultz had powered the Magic’s drive for that final playoff position.
