>>Packers Defensive Lineman Adams Arrested For Drug Possession

(Perry, GA)  --  Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Montravius Adams has been arrested in Georgia for drug possession. Adams was pulled over for driving with an expired registration Tuesday night. The arresting officer said he smelled the odor of marijuana when he approached the vehicle and a search turned up less than an ounce.  Adams was released on bond four hours later.  He could be subject to some form of discipline from the NFL.  Adams was a third-round draft pick in 2017 and has played in 37 games, recording one-and-a-half sacks.

>>Bucks Co-Owner Expects NBA To Be Playing In 6-To-8 Weeks

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry says he expects the N-B-A to resume the season in “six-to-eight weeks.”  Lasry was interviewed Thursday on CNBC’s “Halftime Report.”  He expects the resumption of the season to be discussed more extensively during the league’s board of governors conference call next week.  Lasry says he thinks the N-B-A will return to action with Western Conference teams playing in Las Vegas and Eastern Conference teams in Orlando.

>>UW Athletic Director Says Badgers Football Will Be Flexible In Preparations For Season

(Madison, WI)  --  University of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez says six weeks of training would be ideal for the football Badgers to get ready for the 2020 season, but that’s not necessarily a requirement.  Alvarez says the players and coaches can be flexible. To have six weeks for preparation before the September 4th opener against Indiana at Camp Randall Stadium, summer practice would have to start by July 19th.  On his monthly radio show Wednesday, Alvarez says head coach Paul Chryst has said a shortened training time would be workable.  He says if the coaches only have three weeks to get ready, they’ll be ready in three.

>>Next UWGB Basketball Coach Likely To Have Green Bay Ties

(Green Bay, WI)  --  Less than a week after the surprise dismissal of its head basketball coach, some names being considered by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay are emerging.  Many already have ties to Green Bay.  Early candidates include Gary Grzesk of St. Norbert College, University of Portland assistant Ben Johnson and Virginia assistant Brad Soderberg.  Wisconsin assistant Joe Krabbenhoft has reportedly expressed interest in the Division One position.  Former Phoenix assistant Jimmie Foster is being promoted as an option.

>>Women’s Hockey Hands Out Awards – Watts, Roque Co-Offensive Player of Year

(Madison, WI)  --  Daryl Watts and Abby Roque have been named co-offensive players of the year for the Wisconsin women’s hockey team.  Watts led the nation with 74 points and Roque was one of three finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award as the nation’s top player.  Senior captain Mekenzie Steffen was chosen defensive player of the year and Chayla Edwards was freshman of the year.  Those awards are normally handed out during a season-ending banquet, but the event was called off this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
